Mixed Reality Nutrition App
currently developing in Unity for the Meta Quest 3


Objective:
Provide an engaging experience for new nursing students at Grand Valley State University to learn what factors lead to certain foods fitting certain diets
Current Features:
- New foods are spawned randomly on the first station placed by the user
- Foods can be sorted by the user onto one of three plates, representing diets like “Mechanical Soft Diet” or “Low Sodium Diet” and receive feedback to guide their decision making
- A digital agent (the “ChefShroom”) moves to food placed incorrectly and provides detailed feedback through writing and an audio clip in a speech bubble
- A piece of paper above each plate reflects common nutritional states for each plate placed (i.e. Calories, Carbs, Fat, etc)
- User can rotate and scale stations before placing initially to ensure proper fit, stations automatically align to room surfaces
